Doug Holmes
Senior Pastor
Doug grew up in the Milton, Florida area. He was raised attending First Baptist Church faithfully, which provided a strong foundation in the Bible. However, Doug's teen years were filled with rebellion and deep doubts.
During a David Wilkerson crusade in Pensacola, halfway through his senior year at Milton High School, Doug gave his life to Jesus Christ. Because music and the rock culture had been like a god in his life, he went through a 5 year period of
little or no involvement with music. In 1977 he forfeited his opportunity for a continuing music scholarship at the University of West Florida to pursue ministry through concert outreach. Recordings and tours followed, taking Doug to
perform in Chicago's Cook County Jail, universities, civic centers, coffeehouses, street corners, church services, and mission work in Haiti.
By 1980 a small group of believers were commissioned by Ken Sumrall of Liberty Church of Pensacola to plant a new church in Milton. Shiloh Fellowship set Doug in as Pastor in March of 1984. In 1989, the name was changed to Christian Life
Church, and the new location on 18.5 acres at Avalon Boulevard was finalized.
Doug studied at Pensacola Junior College, Liberty Christian College, and has earned M.Th. from Christian Life School of Theology (Headquarters in Columbus, GA). His vision is for the entire region and the world at large.
He married Chris, his high school sweetheart, in 1973. They have four daughters and enjoy sailing/cruising in the Pensacola Bay area.
