Purpose Statement of Christian Life Church

The Purpose of Christian Life Church is to bring people from various backgrounds into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Jesus' "Great Commandment" of Mark 12:30 and Matthew 28:19-20 provides five ways to accomplish this purpose and stay healthy as a growing church.

Mark 12:30-31 - "'And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."

Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

From these we understand that a healthy church should:

  • Worship and Celebrate - "Love God" individually and together utilizing all the gifts God has given in such a way as to honor His manifest presence among us and in our lives.

  • Serve and Demonstrate - "Love our neighbor" in such a way that connects each person with a ministry that allows their God-given design to be fulfilled and effective.

  • Reach Out and Communicate - "Go" to the unreached with relevant and creative ways to share the Good News of Jesus through the services as well as community impact.

  • Involve and Include - "Baptize" each believer into the family of God encouraging "active" membership.

  • Train and "Disciple" - "Teach" with a goal of developing Christian maturity.
